Canary Islands macronesia, Spain
The Canary Islands are located in what's known as a "macronesia". It's charachterised by a large number of native species and an incredibly diverse variety of landscape.
If you travel just a short distance, both on or between islands, you'll see a dramatic change scenery in just a few hours. For example, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are both relatively flat compared to Tenerife and La Palma which reach to great heights.
The one thing they all have in common is an especially gentle climate. This is mainly due to the influence of ocean currents and the trade winds.
